Sacrifice by Killing

In those days, there was a merchant in Baranasi city. He vowed to the tree god near his home “Dear tree god, I’ll left my home for few days. Please keep me safe from danger. When I come back, I’ll kill a goat and sacrifice it to you.”

When the merchant came back. He brought a goat to the tree, intending to kill a goat.

The tree god suddenly appeared in front of him and said “Anyone who want to free himself from suffers, he should abstain from killing. When he die, he would free from suffers. Freeing oneself from suffers by killing doesn’t succeed. The liberated doesn’t free himself by killing because it is a belief of vandal.”

The tree god finally reincarnated as the Buddha.

Moral: Sacrifice by killing is not good at all because it will make oneself get bounded to revenge in the next life.
