001.10 – Prophecies of Kakusandha Buddha, Konagamana Buddha and Kassapa Buddha

In this millions year period, there were four Buddhas: Kakusandha Buddha, Konagamana Buddha, Kassapa Buddha, and our latest Buddha, Gautama Buddha.

Kakusandha Buddha had foretold that Khema, the king who offered great alms with robes and medicines to Kakusandha Buddha, would be a Gautama Buddha in the future.

In the age of Konagamana Buddha. There was a king named Pabhata. He, along with his councilors, offered great alms with silks, chinese clothes, golden clothes, and many kinds of clothes to Konagamana Buddha. He also became a monks in Konagama Buddha’s religious. Konagamana Buddha fortold that Pabhata would be Gautama Buddha in the future.

After the age of Konagamana Buddha, there was a Buddha named Kassapa. Our Gautama Buddha was a learned man named Jotipala. He was very famous both on earth and in the heaven. He has a friend named Katigara. Jotipala and his friend went to see Kassapa Buddha. They listened to dharma and then became monks in Jotipala’s religious. Konagamana Buddha foretold that Jotipala would be Gautama Buddha in the future.

In summary, our Gautama Buddha had made great merit in twenty four ages of previous Buddhas and had been foretold by previous twenty four Buddhas before becoming a Buddha in our age.
